The Guardian Lead is recommended for dogs weighing 15kg+ depending on configuration and use. We Recommend:
As a Traditional Slip Lead: For dogs over 15kg - also optimal for Bulldogs, Bully Breeds and other brachycephalic dogs.
As a Figure 8 Lead: For dogs over 25kg - for the biggest heads!

Designed with Figure 8 in Mind
Designed to be used most effectively as a traditional unstitched figure 8. This configuration completely removes the lead from the neck, combining comfort with safe handling. The lead sitting over the bridge of the nose across the eyes also helps to calm your dogs prey-drive or fixated behaviour for close control and significantly reduced strength.
A Substantial Slip Lead with a Traditional Feel
For those who want a lead that can be used in the traditional style of a slip lead - the Guardian lead brings extra weight and extra length compared to our heeling leads - perfect for those who like their gun dogs leads loose and low.
Optimised Heeling Lead Length for Big Dogs
Our Heeling leads are designed to be short, but when it comes to figure 8 leads, big heads mean more rope - so we’ve added an extra 20cm of length to our ‘Guardian’ At-Heel lead in order to accomodate a larger skull. Our at-heel leads are all designed to keep your dog close to your side in one hand, with little excess length - and the guardian lead is no exception. Designed with safety and training in mind - so you can keep your dog close by your side.
Brass Plated Chicago Screws for Strength and Security
A thicker rope specification came with a need for a different level of fastening - which is why we’ve introduced Brass Plated Steel Chicago Screws to the flagship guardian Lead, for Strength and Security. These traditional screws have long been used in Leatherwork and Saddlery for their superior strength compared to traditional rivets - making them the obvious choice for our newest leads. It’s a detail that you’’ probably never notice - but that’s been trusted to stand the test of time for many years.
Double Sided Leather Stopper
Ease matters at every level - and when it comes to releasing the stopper on your dogs lead, we want it to be easy and comfortable for anyone, in any weather. The new thicker double sided stopper provides extra grip to loop your fingers around and easily move the leather up and down, for a quick release at the park, on the beach, or getting home from a muddy walk.
